12/15 HARD WORK PAYS OFF!!!!!!!: What an AMAZING season start for our MYTHS TEAMS! Our fabulous five of TROJANS just blew everyone away with their skills AND their ridiculous CUTENESS :) Our SPARTANS not only had a tremendous amount of difficulty in their routine, but proved to themselves they could pull it off - and pull it off with all the confidence and attitude of a true athlete. Absolutely beautiful to watch. AND THEN, our not-to-be-forgotten SIRENS. This team has such tremendous LEADERSHIP from WITHIN and it showed on Saturday. Not only did they work their butts off for FIRST Place, they won the whole thing by winning the 1st ever PAID BID TO IALC at Arizona's USA Regionals!!! Words cannot describe the swelling of pride that we had for all of you. I don't want to use all my best stuff in the news bulletin 'cause we'll be writing y'all an email soon! Just want to tell each and every team member, each and every parent, and each and every coach how much we love & appreciate you all. WE KNOW we still have so much to work on, but this competition validates that we're on the right path. GO TROJANS! GO SIRENS! GO SPARTANS! GO MYTHS FAMILY :))) **IF you run into people from some of these gyms, please thank them for a great competition because their owners are always so gracious to us: Superior Cheer, SCI, Desert Storm, Flames, Desert Thunder, Desert Devils, and of course our support system up North, Power Xtreme :)))

9/14 CONGRATULATIONS TO ONCA!: Last night (Sat. 9/13) Onca won his first dance battle representing his crew, Les Avenge. This is Onca's first win as a b-boy and his crew couldn't be more proud - and all of us here at MYTHS, too! Onca has won an all-expense paid trip to San Francisco, CA. to represent the 48th state in a big battle. Please help me congratulate and say good luck to our very own champion - ONCA. JUST ONCA :)))

9/8 STAFF NEWS: Please join me and wishing the best of luck & a farewell to our coach, Darek Smallman. He has decided to start an exciting career in the United States Army. I am an army brat myself and my mother still works for the USARPac General. Coach Nick Moseby is also a former Army soldier. We are so proud of Darek and wish him all the best as he embarks on his new adventure in life. Darek leaves tomorrow (Tues 9/10) Go Army! Go Myths! Go DAREK...we love you and we'll keep in touch....

We are also WELCOMING a new hire, Miss Courtney Switzer. We already LOVE this girl...she is very excited to work and comes to us with a strong background in dance and gymnastics, as well as a very talented and top NCA veteran head instructor. 8/18 STEPHANIE CHRISTMAS (contd from AZ MYTHS TIMES - home page):Original Myths and Olympians member, Stephanie Christmas, was diagnosed with a cancer called Hodgkins Lymphoma at the end of April ‘08. It seemed unreal for something like this to happen to one of the happiest, hardest working, and talented individuals our gym is lucky to have, but as we thought, the cancer stood NO CHANCE against a fighter like Steph. She was just told by doctors that after only 3 mos of chemotheraphy (was supposed to be at least 6 mos), she has beat it! (contd. from this point)...Stephanie says she can't wait to get back to MYTHS. Over the last few months, she has made it to a few of the Olympians' practices, but some days she was just too sick. WE ARE SO HAPPY TO HAVE HER BACK!!! What an inspiration for us all! She thanks everyone for all their support, love, and prayers :))) Love you, Steph!!!

8/18 FAREWELL & THANK YOU TO COACH DUSTIN and THANK YOU TO ALL OUR SEASONAL COACHES: During the busy summer months we were fortunate to have a few of our seasonal coaches work. I can't express how lucky we are to have such amazing human resources and that although these guys have hectic schedules, they absolutely enjoy working with the Myths kids, families, and schools! Thank you to our July coaches - Dave "Turbo" Rowland, Darek Smallman, and RC Littleton (all who enjoyed the Myths experience so much that they want to try and come in more often). Thanks so much for your hard work and expertise, coaches! Dustin Santoni was here for the past two weeks and had a great time working with all the teams.We will miss him very much, but wish him well as he leads the HPU Nat'l Champion cheer team into another exciting season as captain! 7/7 VANESSA AT TRIPLE A CAMP: Not sure how many of you know this, but I started a camp in 2006 in my home state, Hawaii! It has grown and grown and is a very special part of my year and my life! This year we are looking at a possible 400 + CAMP! Absolutely amazing and a dream come true! Triple A (All Attitude Athletics) has been a long, hard road, but it brings my partner and I so much joy. We give $4000 in scholarships and like Myths, only have the BEST staff (24 camp and 30 for demos). Some of which are our very own :) I hope to be able to plan something for MYTHS next summer ... it was too difficult with Worlds this year as well as it being our FIRST YEAR for Myths and all. I just want you to know I only hire the best so that even in our absence, things will still run smoothly. A few of the seasonal coaches will also be working this month! Be good to them and give them your best. We're lucky to have them and they'd be here more if they all weren't so busy with other careers. I will miss you guys and will see you at the end of the month........vness :)

We were planning uniform fittings in August, but since we really want the NIKES this year, we would like you to order them as early as possible because last year they sold out. Please pay $70 (for OM's this is extra; for new members this comes out of your $340 uniform payment due Aug. 1st leaving you with $270 left to pay in August). I will send a reminder email as well. 4/22 WORLDS INFO: MA's parents - I just emailed you all the info on Worlds. I just received the packet this afternoon, so I had to update a lot of what I was guessing at :) Good thing! Please read through all of it and then let me know if you still have unanswered quesitons. We want to thank you all for participating in the early-bird tryouts and are excited to start practicing. As you know, we have not separated the Juniors & Seniors into levels. 4/7 BRING A FRIEND WEEK & SUPER SATURDAY: THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for all of your participation & support of these two events!!! Bring a friend week was CRAZY! So many new faces and we had such a good time. We hope your friends had half as much fun as we did and we hope to do a few more of these in the future :)

As for SUPER SATURDAY...WOW! We had a BLAST! It was great to meet a lot of your families and even more of your friends. Thanks to all the families who helped make it possible with their grreat resources for donations of all the AMAZING prizes! Since receiving a bid to WORLDS and planning events for the end of the year and our UPCOMING new season, it has been a rollercoaster of events & emotions for everyone involved.

The sacrifice on everyone to make WORLDS a reality has been tremendous; however, in times of immense stress and challenge, one really sees the true value in people and just how much heart our MYTHS FAMILY has. There have been numerous families & individuals both on and off the MA's team, that have given generously to make this dream come true - not only for the MA's, but for the GYM as a first-year business trying to make it in a very competitive market. I am at a loss for words at how generous and kind our families are....

So many of you have stepped up to volunteer your resources, services, expertise, and time to make all of our events "MYTHS" standard - which is, the highest standard possible.

I don't want to embarrass some of you and am not sure if the proper thing to do is be discreet, but you know who you are - WE KNOW WHO YOU ARE - and MAHALO NUI LOA (Hawaiian for thank you with all of my heart!)....

2/26 USA ALL STAR NATIONALS - SIMPLY AMAZING: One word - WOW! Our teams did such an amazing job...not just this past weekend, but everything that accumulated up to this point. Life at a cheer gym is full of ups and downs, but we have persevered unlike any 1st year gym - we are the first ROOKIE gym in Arizona to receive an at-large bid to WORLDS. This is not a hand-out as some have said...they don't HAVE to give out these bids...it would be unbeneficial for a company as large as USA to have anyone less than of great caliber to represent their organization at a prestigious event like WORLDS. So everyone get that straight. These girls deserved it and won it...even over a senior level 5 team who have been around for a few years. OUR TITANS kicked butt and through every adversity, stood tall in finals. So proud of them!!! Our Trojans did their best and are top 3 in their division. We love our spankies :) Way to go, our CHICKS WHO STICK. Thank you, Myths Family! Thank you, coaching staff. What a fantastic weekend!!!

2/13 ARBONNE FUNDRAISER: It starts today! Sorry for the late notice, but lots going on - you know if you got the emails :)...Very excited about all the fundraisers coming up! This is a great way to offset those travel & tuition fees. Be sure to pick up the info packet available at the gym. Fundraiser director, Kim Ethier, will be at the gym tonight to answer any of your questions between 5:30 & 8:30 PM. I'll have all the info on the PEP CLUB PAGE by tomorrow! Let's do this!!!

2/13 OLYMPIANS ARE BACK: Congratulations and JOB WELL DONE to our AZ Myths Olympians! They competed at the USA College & All Star Nationals in Vegas. We made it to FINALS, which was our main goal and surprised EVERYONE with an unknown name that REPRESENTED AZ beautifully! Out of 10 coed level 6 teams, we took 5th place behind East Empire, Nor Cal Elite, Pace, and first place team, Fusion (owners Stacy & Adam are very good friends of mine from Univ. of Hawaii days). Very proud of our young and promising athletes! The LEGEND BEGINS! GO MYTHS!

2/9 WELCOME TO THE FAMILY: We are very pleased to announce the arrival of our newest member on AZ MYTHS STAFF - ONCA. JUST ONCA. Well, just call him Onca (leave out the "just onca"). He's an incredibly talented tumbler (you'll see!), partner stunter, as well as a seasoned coach. He's been coaching at a few gyms in the valley, but says his "last stop is ARIZONA MYTHS." He also just joined the Olympians (coed Level 6) and will be nothing but an asset to our program. Welcome to the family, bro!

12/13 - WINTER BREAK: Next week is an OPTIONAL WEEK, which means it won't count against their attendance if they do not come to practice to STUDY for FINALS or catch up on schoolwork. We trust parents will decide whether it is right for them to miss practices next week. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND: we go on two weeks of winter break and have competition the following weekend, so not only will we be behind in practice, but it is important for the girls to STAY IN SHAPE. Just like Thanksgiving, we will be putting them on an exercise schedule. PLEASE MAKE SURE THEY FOLLOW THIS or our performance can really suffer come Jan. 12th! The exercise schedule will be available on AREA 48 next week :)

12/7 - USA SCHEDULE CHANGE: USA notified me yesterday that the TITANS will be performing at 11:30 AM instead of NOON so please check your email of the updated comp schedule and itinerary (also available on AREA 48)! **Please note: EVERYONE'S MEETING TIMES HAVE CHANGED!

12/5 - TROJANS: You guys have been doing so awesome and have been very consistent w/ your stunts & pyramids. You only have to share your practice w/ the MA's on Friday for the last 45 minutes, but then you'll just go back-to-back running your routine. All the coaches think you're doing such a great job & keep up the great work!!! Go Spankies!

12/5 - MA's & TITANS PRACITCES: Important change - MA's will have an additional practice on FRIDAY, 6:30p - 8:00p at MYTHS. This is INSTEAD of Saturday at 10am!!! 11/29 - IMPORTANT FORMS: Just to clarify I only need ONE copy of your daughter's birth certificate :)...there are just a few that I need turned in and I have sent letters home this week! Also, DUE MONDAY, 12/3: USA MEDICAL WAIVER FORMS and CTC MEDICAL WAIVERS were due NOVEMBER 16th!!!! Get those in or the girls won't be able to compete!!!! 11/18 - AFTER PARTY: Thanks to all the families who came and hung out after the competition on Saturday! I think we all had a feeling of RELIEF that the first one was out of the way and now we know where we stand, what we have to do, and what it will take. It's a good feeling, but nothing beats the fact that we have our families' support. WE LOVE YOU GUYS and thank you for believing in this program!!! We are STOKED to improve and make these teams even better. GO MYTHS! PS...apparently LUPE will be buying all the coloring winners STARBUCKS!!! Lucky girls ;)

11/18 - PRACTICE & THE HOLIDAY WORKOUT PLAN: Monday practice and then we don't see you guys till after the Turkey Holiday! We will introduce to you a WORKOUT plan that we want you to do throught the vacation. We have a lot of work ahead and we gotta keep you guys in shape :) Load up on the turkey and stuffing, but EXERCISE & STRETCH, too! Remember: WE LOVE HALF TOPS! Exercise plans will be available on AREA 48 on Tuesday...

We'll send home a demo sheet w/ the how to's and list of materials (including brands & prices) as well as have it available on AREA 48.
